It was great to be back to the usual winter race series after doing a virtual one during the pandemic. The series appears to have swelled in size since previous years seeing around 200 competitors from 19 teams at the events. How do so many people get Wednesday afternoons off? The league is free for all runners with the club teams stumping up a small cost to run the admin/prizes etc. There are 10 events running approximately monthly from September to March dotted around Norfolk. Each race is scored by teams of 4 men or 3 ladies. If more than 4 in your team, then next 4 are team B etc. Our Mens team usually had enough to fill out teams A and B, but the ladies didn’t always manage to fill team A, so this took a hit on their points so were never really in with a chance for a podium position. Additionally for the men, we had some great runners to gain a top 10 finish in each of the races giving us lots of points. This consistent turnout gave us our 2nd win in succession since the last normal running of the series in 2019/2020.
