Reef Sprint Triathlon 2022

Event : Reef Triathlon

Report submitted by Sally Cushing

A great little event – ideal for athletes just staring out , 300m pool swim, 17k bike section, 3k run section

So after about 3 years of not doing many events, due to injury, family deaths, a pandemic & having Covid, I decide to enter this local event.

Up bright & early on Sunday morning, we loaded up our car & headed off to the new pool at Sheringham & were treated to a lovely sunrise on the way. Upon arrival I registered & was told my start time would be 8.36am. After a very detailed race briefing every one lined up on the poolside. Once started we all set off at 30 sec intervals , swimming 2 lengths in each lane until 12 had been completed . Once completed  I then headed off into transition & after I had put my helmet on I headed out onto the bike course for 17 undulating kms which include a tough hill going through Weybourne. The fast descent back into Sheringham was great. After depositing my bike back in transition I then headed out onto the run course , which was an out & back course along Weybourne road , Up Holt road , a small loop around at the top & then back down the same way I went up. The finish was back at the pool where everyone received a medal & a print out of what they had done .

Al in all it was a lovely well organised event & it was very good to see Paul Davis there as well. I was also very pleased to be 1st in my age category.
