COLD WATER LAKE SWIMMING Following on from the summer swims the Winter OWS season commenced on Saturday 07th October 2023. From then the water will still be warm(ish), and these sessions are the perfect opportunity to acclimatise yourself safely as the water temperature drops week after week. Our aim is for these sessions to be held weekly directly after the summer swims, and throughout the Winter - subject to demand. Initially they will be fortnightly but will be increased if there is enough demand. These will follow the same model as the summer open water swim sessions, although with a slightly cooler feel to them! Cost is £6:00. • Location - Whitlingham Broad (meet on the deck) • Dates - every other Saturday (may become weekly) • Times - 11:00 to 12:00 (we can only be in the water between these times) • Deck and changing rooms open from 10:40 • Warm cabin with warm drinks and biscuits available throughout the session and open until 12:15 • Sign-up will close at 18:00 on the Friday evening before the session, you will not be able to withdraw after this time and may be charged if you do not attend • If the session is full but still you want to swim, you may attend and report to the swim manager on arrival, noting that you may have to wait and you are not guaranteed a space, as this will be dependent on numbers in the water. Check out the OWS Manager roster OWS Volunteer Rota 2023/2024 – Tri-Anglia Triathlon Club to see who is managing the session, or to volunteer to help. Check out the session details here https://tri-anglia.club/training/cold-open-water-swimming-2023/ IMPORTANT! Beccles Lido Wetsuit Swim Technique Training Session  These 2 sessions are being offered for Tri-Anglia swimmers to get an early season feel for open water with or without wetsuit. Sessions will be coached and will include warm up, brief OWS technique drills and then main set and cool down. Note these are not a replacement for the OWS sessions at the lake but could help you identify areas for improvement and be a taster for those sessions. Outdoor showers and changing rooms are available after the session  NOTE The booking list freezes 24 hours before the training session. Check out the session details here https://tri-anglia.club/training/cold-open-water-swimming-2023/ IMPORTANT! Check out the session details here https://tri-anglia.club/training/cold-open-water-swimming-2023/ IMPORTANT!
