Sunday saw another great race at the 2nd Lingwood duathlon. The weather was dry but there was a vicious wind making the hilly bike course very interesting. There were some exceptional athletes toeing the start line this year and we had 3 athletes that broke the previous course record (solo). The course record was smashed by the winner of the 2024 race; pro triathlete and ex Tri Anglian Joe Skipper in a blistering time of 1:20:44.
The top news is that the TA ladies swept the board taking all top three positions in the Female category; 1st Jane Hannah in 01:53:08, 2nd Kathryn Heaney in 01:55:09, and 3rd Karen Doak in 01:58:04. Shout out to Max Stevens who was the 1st TA in the Open category in a super time of 01:46:57 (13th overall). The marshals were once again superb and we have received some brilliant feedback from competitors praising you all – thank you so much! You are all a credit to the club and to the sport of Triathlon.
